If you are looking to spend some extra time in the Fort Collins area, here are some options. Links are only included if Google is somehow not helpful.
Places to visit near Fort Collins
The following places would all require transportation of some sort (mostly renting a car). For details or travel advice, see Google, Trip Advisor, or write to Dan Bates.
- Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park: Very scenic, many reasonable hiking options, idyllic small town in a mountain valley. Approximately 45 minutes from Fort Collins.
- Denver: Good museums, nice zoo, good Children's Museum, nice parks, Red Rocks amphitheater, etc. About 1 hour from Fort Collins.
- Colorado Springs: Pike's Peak (by car of by train, Garden of the Gods, Cliff Dwellings, nice zoo, Air Force Academy (esp. the Chapel). About 2 hours from Fort Collins.
- Boulder.
