Tensor decomposition has typically been approached from only one or the other side of the pure / applied divide. The goal of this mini-symposium is to maximize a synergy of ideas related to tensor decomposition by bringing together researchers from these two different groups.

We plan to have 8 talks, 4 each coming from two different areas -- (1) syzygies and (2) applications -- related to tensor decomposition.
